Florence Cement Company is a full-service heavy civil and infrastructure contractor providing comprehensive construction services for the Michigan Department of Transportation, municipalities, counties, airports, private developers, and landmark infrastructure projects, including the Gordie Howe International Bridge. Our capabilities include underground, earth excavation, concrete paving, concrete patching and repairs, HMA (asphalt) paving, and portable concrete batch plant operations. By self-performing our work, we maintain control over quality, schedule, and coordination from project start through completion.
Our work is performed by an experienced union workforce and supported by active involvement in leading industry organizations, including the Asphalt Pavement Association of Michigan (APAM), the Michigan Concrete Association (MCA), and the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association (MITA). These affiliations ensure our practices align with current industry standards, MDOT specifications, and evolving construction methodologies across Michigan’s transportation and infrastructure markets.
